invite you to take part in the International Conference
Relations, contacts and interactions between cultures of Northern Eurasia and civilizations of the East during the Paleometal Period
(IV - I millennia BC).
27–29 NOVEMBER 2019, Saint Petersburg
The conference is dedicated to the 80th birth anniversary of Vadim Bochkarev, outstanding Russian researcher of the Bronze Age of Northern Eurasia.
The following topics will be discussed during the conference:
1) Originality of North Eurasian cultures of the Paleometal Period;
2) Issues of relative and absolute chronology of North Eurasian cultures during the Paleometal Period;
3) Internal and external connections of archaeological cultures of Northern Eurasia during the Paleometal Period;
4) Bronze Age cultures of Southern Siberia and Ancient China;
5) Bronze Age cultures of Central Asia and Ancient Iran;
6) Steppe cultures of the Eneolithic – Bronze Age in the south of Eastern Europe and the Caucasus;
7) Caucasus and civilizations of Western Asia during the Paleometal Period;
8) Role of external contacts and connections in the development North Eurasian cultures and ancient civilizations during the Paleometal Period.
Venue: Institute for the History of Material Culture and the State Hermitage Museum (Saint Petersburg, Russia).
