Боги как соседи: жизнь за пределами святилища (700-200 гг. до н.э.)
Мой диссертационный проект посвящен изучению активности за пределами святилищ в Карии и в материковой Греции в 700–200 гг. до н.э. Центральный объект моего исследования – зона вне теменоса, цель работы – прояснить как использование и функции этой зоны влияют на наше понимание взаимоотношений святилища и окружающих территорий в античности, а также как это влияет на наше понимание взаимоотношений святилища и окружающих территорий в современном мире. Рассматриваются материалы шести памятников.
Основываясь на материальных остатках, зафиксированных вокруг святилищ, а также на информации из эпиграфических и литературных источников, что мы можем сказать о жизни, делах и смерти в каждом из этих мест? Жили ли здесь люди временно, постоянно, недозволенно? Занимались ли ремеслом, торговлей, или отправляли культ за пределами теменоса? Умирали ли здесь люди и хоронили ли их, были ли погребенные местными жителями или их привозили издалека? Основываясь на том же материале, что мы можем сказать о каждом отдельном месте в смысле его управления и доступа к святилищу и связанным с ним землям? Было ли святилище автономным или управлялось общиной, расположенной в другом месте? Что за община использовало святилище? Имели ли место процессии между поселением и святилищем? Были ли со святилищем связаны земли, и если да, то были ли они священными, где они находились и занималось ли жречество управлением этими землями? Использовалось ли святилище для встреч местными или региональными группами?
With gods as neighbours, life outside the temenos 700-200 BCE
My PhD project aims to explore activities outside the temenos in the Karian and Greek mainland regions, from roughly 700-200 BCE. Taking the extra-temenal area as the starting point, the study aims to clarify how the use and function of extra-temenal areas affect our understanding of the relationship between surrounding areas and sanctuary in antiquity, as well as how this affects our understanding of the surroundings and sanctuary pair in the modern discourse. The evidence from six sites will be examined.
Based on traces that have been noted outside the temenos and information in epigraphical and literary sources, what can be said concerning living, doing, and dying at each place? Did people live there; temporarily, permanently, uninvitedly? What did people do; production, trade, cults outside the temenos? Did people die and get buried, were the buried local inhabitants, were they brought there for burial, or did they die there by chance?
Based on the same material, what can be said for each individual place concerning the administration and access to both sanctuary and connected lands? Was the sanctuary autonomous or administered by a community located somewhere else? What kind of community used the sanctuary? Was there a processional connection between the community and sanctuary? Were there lands connected to the sanctuary, and if so, were they sacred or other, where were they located and was it the sanctuary that administered and regulated activity of these lands? Was the sanctuary used by local or regional groups for meetings?
